With warm weather finally upon us, I think it’s safe to say that the streets are calling our names in a major way!! If you’re anything like me, then you know that no slay is complete without a fragrance. It’s literally apart of the look. It adds an olfactory experience that makes the ensemble even more epic and unforgettable. Today I’m sharing four fragrances that are not only perfect for spring and summer but will have you turning heads all season. You’ve been warned 🙂
Delina Exclusif by Parfums de Marly is hands down, one of my most complimented fragrances to date. It’s an oriental floral fragrance that’s flirty, playful and oh so feminine. I’ve declared this my official happy scent because every time I wear it it’s like a burst of sunshine just enveloped me and all is right with the world….I know that description was a bit dramatic but that’s the only way I could accurately describe the feeling.
Some of the fragrance notes include bergamot, amber, rose and musk. This scent can definitely be worn year round during the day or at night. I typically wear it during the day since the dry down is very soft but don’t let that fool you, this is a ridiculously long lasting fragrance. It’s a niche fragrance so the price tag is pretty hefty but it’s so worth it. I think it’s a great addition to any perfume collection and if you can get your nose on it before dropping those coins, I highly suggest you do. As a matter of fact, If you can get a sample of it, that’s even better! I’m a firm believer in try before you buy especially when purchasing niche fragrances since they are an investment. Trust me when I say this perfume is worth every penny!
Florabotanica by Balenciaga is an oriental floral fragrance that’s soft, fresh, feminine, and sophisticated. It’s one of those fragrances that you either love or you hate. While I personally love it, I can totally understand how it can be an acquired scent for some. Although it is a floral fragrance, it’s not your typical sweet floral; It’s more on the fresh side and by fresh I mean it’s very green….kind of like fresh-cut grass and wet leaves but in a good way. The notes are mint, carnation, hybrid rose, caladium leaves (no surprise here), amber & vetiverone. I don’t typically gravitate towards fresh scents but this beauty is definitely the exception. I’d consider this a daytime fragrance that’s best worn during the spring and summer. I don’t know why but something about the warm weather really makes this perfume come alive. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend you get a sample and judge for yourself. It’s such a unique scent but the complexity of it is so modern and very unforgettable.
Fleur Musc For Her by Narsisco Rodriguez is a floral woody musk that’s sensual, feminine and oh so sexy. The fragrance notes are pink pepper, rose, peony, musk, patchouli and amber. Now, while the musk is very prominent upon first spray, the real star of the show is the pepper. It’s the twist you didn’t know you needed but you’re definitely glad it’s there. The pepper combined with the musk and patchouli makes this fragrance bold and sexy; add in the the floral notes and amber and you have the perfect fragrance for the modern woman. It can be worn year round during the day and night and is sure to turn heads. I usually reach for this fragrance when I want to feel confident, sexy and sultry. Everybody needs a scent like this in their collection especially since it does a lot without doing too much.
Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel is one of those fragrances that will never go out of style as far as I’m concerned. It’s a floral woody fragrance that can literally be worn with everything. It’s such a timeless fragrance that’s just as iconic as the fragrance house that produces it. It’s bold, elegant and feminine but also sophisticated and vibrant. I’ve been wearing this since I was in my twenties and still reach for it today. It’s very long-lasting and exudes RBE (Rich B**tch Energy); in case you don’t know, she (she = me) likes to smell like money okay! Some of the fragrance notes are orange, May rose, jasmine, patchouli and vetiver. This is perfume can easily transition from day to night year round…It’s basically a classic. I usually reach for it on the days I’m feeling super posh and professional. It’s bold but it’s not suffocating which makes it a great office perfume. There’s a few other variations of this fragrance that launched recently but the original will always be my jam. Its a great addition to any collection and if you haven’t tried it, what are you waiting for? Stop by any department store perfume counter and take a sniff. you wont regret it.
So there you have it, four fragrances from my collection that can easily take you from Spring to Summer without missing a beat. I included links for each fragrance in the descriptions in case you’re compelled to purchase them. If you have any questions or suggestions for other fragrances I should try, drop me a line. I’d love to hear from you.
