Happy New Year friends!! 2022 is here and I’m looking forward to all the adventures and blessings that I’m sure it will bring. Onward and upward right? Well, maybe not too fast because today, I’m sharing all the beauty items that I’ve been loving for December!
Tom Ford Black Orchid Parfum – Black Orchid is hands down one of my favorite fragrances!! It’s a unisex heavy hitter that oozes modern sophistication and I’m absolutely in love with it. It’s definitely an attention grabber so if bold scents aren’t your taste, you should probably pass on this one. However, if you like rich, spicy, oriental floral fragrances with amazing projection, you need to go ahead and grab this one. Since it’s a bolder fragrance, it’s a great option for fall and winter. I wear it year-round during the day and at night because frankly, It’s too good not to!
NARS Rock With You Power Matte Lip Pigment – Picture this, you’re scrolling through Instagram and see one of your favorite influencers rocking the most beautiful, vampy, cool-toned burgundy lip colors and at that moment, you know, you MUST have it! That was literally my experience the first time I saw NARS Rock With You Lip Pigment. This is a must-have for everyone’s beauty bag especially if you love bold lip colors. Not only is this an absolutely gorgeous color, but it’s also one of the most comfortable Matte lip colors to wear. I highly recommend giving this color a try.
Olaplex Hair Rescue Kit – Listen, after two years in quarantine, my hair was in desperate need of some TLC, and with COVID still being a thing, I had to dust off my kitchen beautician skills and get to work! After doing a little research, I came across a plethora of reviews raving about the Olaplex haircare system and I knew I had to give it a try. If you arent familiar with Olaplex, it’s a haircare system that has a series of products numbered from 0-8 that if used regularly, can repair damaged hair using their patented ingredient Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate.
Now, I’m not going to lie, these products are not cheap. Averaging $30 per product and with 8 products in the line, this gets pretty pricey. I don’t know about you but I’m not dropping over $200 on products that may not work on my hair. Thankfully, I came across the hair rescue kit and yall, this is the truth!! After one wash I saw an immediate improvement in my hair. It was like life was given back to my tresses instantaneously. I was so impressed! I’ve been using this system as part of my in-between salon visit regimen and I’m really loving how much my hair has improved. 10/10 highly recommend
Elle Vie Body Butter – I’m sure I’m not the only one whose skin gets dryer than the Sahara Desert in the winter right? (Don’t front, ya’ll know your skin gets dry too lol) Well, as a result, I’m always looking for and trying different moisturizers in hopes of fighting the ash; and lately, this whipped shea butter has been my saving grace. Not only does it come in several divine scents but it’s so hydrating! I purchased their body scrub and shea butter in the scent Date Night and I love it! The scent is subtle in my opinion so layering it with both products is a great way to build it up. With Valentines Day right around the corner, this would not only be a great gift idea (they have a men’s line too) but also a great way to pamper yourself.
Marc Jacobs Perfect Intense – Now, usually I’m not a fan of jasmine in fragrances at all!! I find the smell to be very cloying and nauseating; However, I think Perfect Intense may make me reconsider my stance. It’s a very rich and warm fragrance with notes of almond, sandalwood, Cashmeran, and of course jasmine. At first sniff, the jasmine is very prominent but before I can be repulsed, the almond and sandalwood jump in and balance the jasmine out in such a way that it makes this perfume tolerable for me. #smallvictories As an avid fragrance lover, I pretty much know what I like and what I don’t so for me to possibly reconsider jasmine is a big deal! If you’re a jasmine lover, I highly recommend giving this perfume a try. I don’t have many Marc Jacobs fragrances in my collection but I may have to explore this brand a bit more to see what else they have.
NARS Creamy Radiance Concealer – This is one of my favorite concealers! When I first started wearing makeup and wanted to try a makeup brand other than MAC, this was my go-to. It’s a buildable coverage that blends into your skin flawlessly. I usually wear the shade “Amande” for spot concealing and recently, I tried the shade “Walnut” (pictured) for highlight and I’m so glad I did. It adds just enough brightness to my face without being too bold for everyday looks and can easily be built up for nighttime looks. It’s crease-proof, transfer-proof, and sweat-proof so basically, once it’s on, your good for the day. This will forever be on the re-purchase list for me.
The Beachwaver – This handy curling iron has been a Godsend for me. It’s the best way to achieve picture-perfect curls in a fraction of the time. It has a small camp that holds the hair in place and a self-rotating head that wraps the hair around the iron in a matter of seconds. Once you release the clamp you have a perfect curl! The best thing is it comes in multiple sizes so whether you have long or short hair, you’ll be able to find a beachwaver that will cut your curl time in half. I’m so glad I came across it because when you change your hair as much as I do, anything that’ll make hair prep easier is always a plus.
The Luv Scrub – This mesh body exfoliator is a must-have for anyone seeking soft touchable skin! If you suffer from Keratosis Pilaris or ” strawberry legs” like me, then you know exfoliation is a major part of your skincare regimen. The Luv Scrub provides full-body exfoliation that not only treats the areas affected by KP but also keeps the other areas smooth and soft. It stretches up to 50″ so getting the hard-to-reach areas is a breeze and it’s washable!
